Privacy

What happens to your details.

This website is run by Daniel Tyas, trading as Daniel Tyas Design, in Huddersfield. If you have a question about any of this, email [email protected].

If you use the contact form

I collect your name, email address and message, and your phone number and company if you give them. The site also records the IP address the message came from, to help me deal with spam.

I use these details to reply to you and for nothing else. Your enquiry is saved in my own customer system, and I get an email about it. I don't sell your details or pass them to anyone to market to you.

I keep an enquiry for as long as I need it to deal with you. If you would like yours deleted, email me and I'll do it.

Cookies and tracking

This website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies, and nothing on it is set aside for marketing. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to ask consent for.

I do count visits, so I know which pages get read. My own counter does it, on my own server, without cookies and without sending anything to a third party. When a page opens it records the page, the time, where the link came from, your browser type, screen size, language and country, and later how long the page was in front of you and how far down you read. Your IP address is used with a secret that changes every day to tell visitors apart within that day; the address itself is never stored, and yesterday's secret is deleted, so nothing kept can be traced back to you. I only ever look at totals. This is the "statistical purposes" exception in the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations.

If you'd rather not be counted, press the button below. It sets one value in your browser's own storage for this site, and that's all it does. Browsers that send a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal are left out automatically.

The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which handles the traffic for security and speed. That means Cloudflare sees visitors' IP addresses as part of its normal service, and it is where the country figure comes from.

Your rights

You can ask me what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. If you are unhappy with how I've handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
